When Art and Identity Share the Same Space

Some pieces in a home do more than fill a wall or complete a room. They quietly carry memory, identity, and moments of becoming.

This artwork is one of my favorites. I love the black background and the layered color, but what makes it special is what it holds. It reminds me of time spent with my family—shared experiences that shaped who I am. Every time I see it, it brings that season back in a way that feels warm and grounding.

Art has always been a way for me to hold onto moments. Pieces like this become markers of time, reminding us where we’ve been and who we were along the way.

Just beneath it sits something else that carries just as much meaning, the chair I’m sitting in.

When I first started this business, I spent countless hours sourcing pieces on Facebook Marketplace. I learned how to spot quality, craftsmanship, and value. Most of what I found was meant to be resold, but every once in a while, I came across something I couldn’t let go.

These Italian Cesca chairs are everything! They are beautifully made, sleek, modern, and timeless. They remind me of my time in Italy, a season that holds some of my favorite memories and shaped my love for design that feels intentional, functional, and quietly sophisticated.

Together, the art and the chairs tell a larger story. One about family, travel, curiosity, and learning to trust your eye. They reflect both where I come from and what continues to inspire me.

Homes feel most complete when they reflect not just taste, but a life lived. When pieces are chosen because they mean something, they stop being decor and start becoming part of your story.

That’s when a space truly becomes your own.
